History
Boise is the capital city of the state of Idaho, located in the western United States. The area that is now Boise has a long history, dating back over 8,000 years to when Native American tribes first inhabited the region.
In the early 19th century, the region was explored by fur traders, and in the 1860s, gold was discovered in the Boise Basin, which led to a rush of settlers to the area. In 1863, Boise City was founded as a supply and transportation center for the mining towns in the surrounding area.
Boise grew rapidly during the late 19th century as a result of its location as a transportation hub and the growth of the mining industry. The city was officially incorporated in 1864 and became the capital of Idaho in 1865.
In the early 20th century, Boise experienced a period of growth and modernization, with the construction of new buildings, roads, and other infrastructure. The city also became a center for agriculture, with a focus on potato farming.
