If you are a new resident, you may not be aware of some of our ordinances. Since every community has different laws, this information is being provided to inform you of some of these ordinances. This community has a Crime Watch program that I would encourage every resident to become involved in. The safety and security of our community not only relies on an effective police department, but also the involvement of the citizens of the community. Any questions about these ordinances, any other ordinances, or any problems, concerns, or programs that you may have, feel free to contact any of the Brandon Police Officers or myself and we will help you in any way that we can. Again, welcome to our community.

The village of Brandon was platted in 1878, on land homesteaded by Gustave and Ida Florell, by the Worthington and Sioux Falls Railroad. The village overlooked the Big Sioux River and contained eight blocks divided into 130 lots.
