Founded as the town of Santa Rosa in 1910, Santa Rosa Beach spans the South Walton peninsula from the Gulf of Mexico to the Choctawhatchee Bay. Along with luxury beach houses, upscale dining and boutique shopping, Santa Rosa Beach has a vibrant arts community and is home to several parks and an historic cemetery.
Once the center of a thriving turpentine industry, today, Santa Rosa Beach offers a variety of outdoor activities. A large portion of the 15,000-acre Point Washington State Forest is located here featuring over 10 miles of hiking and biking trails.
