Here's an overview of the history of Granby: Early History: The area where Granby is located was originally inhabited by the Ute and Arapaho Native American tribes. They used the land for hunting and gathering before European settlers arrived. Exploration and Settlement: In the late 19th century, explorers and prospectors arrived in the area in search of gold, silver, and other valuable minerals. In 1874, a group of prospectors discovered rich silver ore in the mountains nearby, leading to a silver boom. As a result, the town of Granby was founded in 1904 and named after Granby Hillyer, a Denver attorney.
