History
CHS Field is a multi-purpose outdoor stadium located in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. It is primarily used for baseball and is the home of the St. Paul Saints, an independent minor league baseball team. The stadium opened on May 21, 2015, with a capacity of 7,210 seats.
Before the construction of CHS Field, the St. Paul Saints played at Midway Stadium, which was located about three miles west of the new stadium. The team played there from 1993 until 2014, when the stadium was deemed outdated and inadequate.
In 2012, plans for a new stadium were announced, and a partnership between the City of Saint Paul, the State of Minnesota, and the St. Paul Saints was formed to fund and construct the new stadium. The stadium was named CHS Field after CHS Inc., a Fortune 100 company based in Minnesota that provides agricultural products and services.
