Commercial Pier History

The Commercial Pier in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea has a long and interesting history. It was originally built in 1963 as a fishing pier, and quickly became a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. The pier was an important part of the community and served as a hub for fishing, socializing, and recreation.

Over the years, the pier underwent several renovations and upgrades. In 2012, the pier was completely rebuilt and reopened with a new design that included a wider deck, improved lighting, and a new fishing station.
