Absolute beach front, overlooking UK's premier beach
Fistral Beach Hotel is situated overlooking Fistral Beach, the UK's premiere beach break, by an adjacent golf course, all within easy reach of the town centre and amenities. Newquay is ideal as an excellent base from which to tour the picturesque villages and resorts of the beautiful county of Cornwall.
Newquay is the No.1 resort of the Southwest and offers the holidaymaker a wide choice for relaxation, superb beaches and coastlines, surfing, sea trips, fishing, sailing, horse riding, shops, many restaurants and a great night life.
Four mini-golf putting courses in addition to the one on the golf course are situated in close proximity to the main beaches and car parks. Upon the Summerleaze Downs and overlooking the sea is an interesting Pitch-n-Putt course. The grass courts situated on Summerleaze Downs are some of the best in the Westcountry. Courts are open until dusk, including Sundays, and racquets and tennis balls may be hired if desired. Two tennis courts are also available in Holsworthy. Tennis courts are also available next to The Castle. Visitors may utilise the facilities of the Bude Green which is of Cumberland turf. Woods and slips may be hired if desired. The Stratton and Holsworthy Bowling Clubs also make visitors very welcome.
A more pleasant setting for a Cricket Ground than on Summerleaze Downs, at Bude cannot be imagined. Cricket matches are played at the week-end during the holiday season and also throughout the first two weeks in August. The local Cricket Club can often find d place in their team for a holiday-maker who wishes to participate rather than just watch. There are also cricket matches played in Stanhope Park, Holsworthy. The Rebel at the Rainbow, 5 miles south of Bude on the A39 at Treskinnick Cross, Poundstock.
This interesting seaside hotel has stunning views and is very close to a fine sandy beach. The picnic tables on the front terrace are a favorite spot in the evenings particularly when the barbeque is lit ! The nearby lighthouse of Trevose Head watches over many fine surfing beaches, lifeguard patrolled from May to September. The resort or Padstow is 4m.
Every room enjoys excellent views over the beach, sea and gardens. We have 2 acres of grounds, with ample parking for all of our guests. Our own private path leads down to the beach (approximately 200 metres), which is very safe for bathing. A small river runs across the beach into the sea - this, as well as many rock pools, provides an ideal play area for children of all ages. Mount Brioni is an ideal touring base, with destinations like Lands End and Dartmoor only about one and a half hours drive. There are also numerous walks to hand (or foot!), including the coastal path, which passes our door. Other nearby sports and activities include golf, riding, surfing and fishing. The village pub is only a 2 minute walk away, as is the village shop and 2 cafes.
Close to the ancient town of Lostwithiel in the heart of Cornwall, the Fistral Beach Hotel is the perfect base for discovering beautiful coastlines, quiet inland villages, ancient towns and historic houses.
