Grand Haven is a city located in Ottawa County, Michigan, USA, with a population of over 10,000 people. The city is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan, at the mouth of the Grand River.

The area that is now Grand Haven was first inhabited by Native American tribes, including the Ottawa, Chippewa, and Potawatomi. French explorers and traders arrived in the area in the 17th century, and a fur trading post was established in the 18th century.

In the 1830s, settlers from New York and New England began to arrive in the area, and the village of Grand Haven was officially founded in 1835. The city grew quickly, and by the late 19th century, it had become an important shipping and manufacturing hub.
