Hope Live Cam

The history of Hope, Idaho dates back to the late 19th century, when the town was founded as a mining settlement. The first gold discovery in the area was made in 1869, and by the 1880s, a number of mining claims had been staked in the region. The town of Hope was founded in 1894, named after a local prospector named Percy Hope.

Mining remained the primary industry in Hope for many years, with several large mining operations in the area, including the Hope mine and the Morning mine. In the early 20th century, the town also became a popular destination for tourists and vacationers, thanks to its scenic location on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille.
