History
Martinsicuro is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Teramo in the Abruzzo region of Italy. The town is situated on the Adriatic coast, between the mouths of the Tronto and Vibrata rivers.
The area where Martinsicuro is located has been inhabited since prehistoric times. The town's name is derived from the Latin name Martis Anicri, which means "marketplace of Mars", indicating that it was an important trading center during the Roman era.
During the Middle Ages, Martinsicuro was part of the Kingdom of Naples, and it was ruled by a series of feudal lords. In the 15th century, the town was conquered by the Kingdom of Aragon, and it became part of the Kingdom of Spain.
