History

Mount Nantai, also known as Nantai-san, is a significant mountain located in the Nikko National Park in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. It is one of the sacred peaks in the region and holds great cultural and religious importance in Japanese history.

Religious Significance: Mount Nantai has been considered a sacred mountain since ancient times and is closely associated with the Shinto religion. Shinto is the indigenous religion of Japan, and many of its followers consider natural features such as mountains, forests, and rivers as sacred and imbued with spiritual energy. Mount Nantai, along with nearby Mount Nyoho and Mount Taro, is considered one of the three holy mountains of Nikko.
