Muir of Ord History

Muir of Ord is a village located in the Highland region of Scotland, situated approximately 20 km west of the city of Inverness. The history of Muir of Ord can be traced back to the 17th century when it was originally known as "Tarradale."

During the 18th and 19th centuries, the village became an important center for the wool industry, with several mills and factories operating in the area. In 1803, a new church was built in Muir of Ord, which replaced the older church that had been constructed in the 17th century.
