One Liberty Place Live Cam

A skyscraper complex in Philadelphia

History

One Liberty Place is a skyscraper located in Center City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. It was completed in 1987 and was the tallest building in Philadelphia until the completion of the Comcast Center in 2007.

The construction of One Liberty Place was significant because it broke a long-standing gentleman's agreement that no building in Philadelphia would be built higher than the statue of William Penn on top of City Hall. This agreement was established in 1894 and was known as the "Curse of Billy Penn," as it was believed that any building taller than City Hall would bring bad luck to the city's sports teams.
