History
Playa de Pinamar, located within the luxurious coastal area of Cariló in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, boasts a fascinating history that intertwines development, natural preservation, and tourism. The area’s origins can be traced back to the early 20th century when the land, previously dominated by sand dunes, was transformed through a visionary reforestation project initiated by entrepreneur Héctor Manuel Guerrero.
In the 1920s, Guerrero and his team began planting extensive pine forests, eucalyptus trees, and acacias, creating a lush green oasis amid the coastal desert. This ambitious project not only stabilized the dunes but also laid the foundation for the development of Cariló as an exclusive tourist destination. By the mid-20th century, Cariló had become synonymous with luxury, attracting affluent families who sought respite in its tranquil environment and pristine beaches like Playa de Pinamar.
