Red Rocks Park History
Red Rocks Park is a park located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Jefferson County, Colorado, United States. It is known for its stunning red sandstone rock formations, scenic vistas, and natural amphitheater.
The park covers an area of 640 acres and offers numerous recreational activities, including hiking, biking, picnicking, and wildlife viewing. Visitors can explore more than 15 miles of trails that wind through the park and offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
The park is home to many unique rock formations, including the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater, a naturally formed outdoor venue that hosts many concerts, events, and performances throughout the year. The amphitheater has been in use since the early 1900s and has hosted some of the biggest names in music, from The Beatles to U2 to Mumford & Sons.
