Schuss Mountain Live Cam

Schuss Mountain is a ski resort located in Northern Michigan, USA, near the village of Bellaire. The resort has a rich history that dates back to the 1960s when the ski industry was still in its early stages of development.

The mountain was initially developed as a small ski hill by George Grubaugh in 1967. Grubaugh named the hill Schuss Mountain, after the German word "schuss," which means a straight downhill run. The name reflected Grubaugh's vision for the resort to provide skiers with a long, uninterrupted run down the mountain.

Over the years, Schuss Mountain grew and expanded, adding more runs, lifts, and amenities to become one of the premier ski destinations in the region. In 1985, the resort was purchased by the Boyne Resorts company, which brought significant investment and development to the area.

Under Boyne's ownership, Schuss Mountain underwent a major renovation, including the addition of new lifts, runs, and lodging. The resort also became a year-round destination, with the development of a golf course and other summer activities.
