Callantsoog is a village located on the North Sea coast in the province of North Holland, in the Netherlands. The history of Callantsoog dates back to the 13th century when a small settlement was established near a natural waterway called the Kooiweer. The village's name is believed to have derived from the words "calende" and "soch", which together mean "the place where the tides converge".
