It is the only commercial airport in Park County Wyoming

History

Wyoming County, located in the northeastern part of the state of Pennsylvania, has a rich and storied history that dates back to the early days of American settlement. The county, named after the Wyoming Valley in Pennsylvania, was officially formed on April 4, 1842, from parts of Luzerne County. The name "Wyoming" itself is derived from a Native American word meaning "large plains" or "extensive meadows," reflecting the area's natural landscape that has long been central to its identity.
