A large city surrounded by rolling hills in Silicon Valley

There's nothing like it anywhere in the world. At 930 square feet, this incredible rendition of a worldwide favorite pastime has the exclusive authorization of Parker Brothers. It's presented in a beautiful public setting that includes a theme garden, plans for an amphitheater, and promises to be a great recreational draw for the "Captiol of Silicon Valley". Monopoly in The Park is brought to you by Friends of San Jose Beautiful, a non-profit group formed to support the projects of San Jose Beautiful, who works hard to improve your city, parks and neighborhoods.

Nearly two dozen Visitor Services & Facilities (VSF) including regional parks, gardens, and recreational facilities are managed by the Department. For example, Kelley Park features Happy Hollow Park and Zoo, the Japanese Friendship Garden and the Historical Museum. The Municipal Stadium is home to the San Jose Giants. There is a 18-hole Municipal Golf Course, Lake Cunningham, Raging Waters, and Almaden Lake. The Peralta Adobe and Fallon House are two historic downtown landmarks, the City's largest barn at Emma Prusch Farm Park, and Alum Rock Park, California's first city park and San Jose's largest park with miles of trails, and attractions are available for public use.

Whether you’re looking for a hot air balloon ride over Wine Country, whitewater rafting near Yosemite, an outdoor café on San Francisco’s Union Square, a condo for your Tahoe ski vacation, family fun at Disneyland, a jeep adventure through Joshua Tree National Park or a San Diego restaurant where you can enjoy the sunset, we hope to soon have all the information you need.

The travel industry generates over $5 billion in state and local taxes on total annual expenditures of over $80 billion. California hosted approximately 8.4 million international visitors; the only state that attracts more international visitors is Florida. Spending by international visitors comprises more than 16% of all travel spending in the state. The top five overseas visitor market countries were the United Kingdom (693,000 visitors), Japan (630,000), Germany (275,000), South Korea (273,000) and Australia (259,000). In addition to overseas visitors, there were 409,000 Mexican air travelers and roughly 3.3 million Mexican visitors who traveled to and through California by car, as well as 983,400 Canadian visitors. California tourism is the state’s fourth largest employer (providing employment for nearly 900,000 Californians) and is the fifth largest contributor to the gross state product.

California was also the destination of 314 million domestic leisure and business travelers, making it the most visited state in America. Californians themselves are the mainstay of the state’s travel and tourism industry, comprising 85 percent of domestic travel, or 265.7 million person-trips. Out-of-state visitors account for 48.6 million person-trips, and California’s top domestic markets were Nevada (contributing approximately 7.9 million persontrips), Arizona (6.6 million), Texas (4.7 million), Oregon (2.8 million), New York (2.5 million) and Washington (1.9 million). California garnered a 10.8% market share of total U.S. domestic travel, and 20.7% of all overseas travel to America.

California tourism is promoted by the state’s 11 (expanding to 13 locations) California Welcome Centers, as well as individual city and county chambers of commerce and conventions and visitors bureaus. Please refer to the general information provided for each Area for individual welcome center’s location and contact information if you know your destination, or you can use the link provided below to view a comprehensive list of these associations. Visitors increasingly chose the wine regions of California as their tourist destination. Visitors to California wineries grew from 14.8 million to 19.7 million, with tourism expenditures of $2 billion, up 54 percent from $1.3 billion in the last report.
