Aruba beaches ranked 1º in the World

Porthole Cruise Magazine Gives the Island Top Honors Aruba has once again received international recognition for its beautiful beaches. Porthole Cruise Magazine has ranked Aruba’s Palm Beach and Eagle Beach as the best in the world. The magazine edition set out to find the Top 10 World’s Best Beaches and Aruba made the top of the list. Both Palm Beach and Eagle Beach, referred to as Turquoise Coast, were picked for their seven-mile stretch of beautiful white sand conveniently located just 10 minutes away from Oranjestad’s port, if traveling by car.

Aruba is just outside the hurricane belt making the beaches accessible year-round. Snorkeling, diving and windsurfing are just some of the past-times visitors can take advantage of while visiting Aruba’s beaches. The Turquoise Coast is also known for its natural ship wrecks drawing divers to explore the underwater wonders. We are thrilled to be ranked #1 in the world. Our tranquil waters and beautiful sugar-white sands make our beaches stand out from others Aruba competed with and beat places like Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach and other locations in both Brazil and Hawaii.

Aruba attracts some one million visitors and cruise passengers a year, most from North America and nearby Venezuela, and it ranks as one of the Caribbean's most popular vacation spots. Why Aruba? We give you 10 good reasons to visit Aruba: Many accommodations, perfect for kids; Abundance of activities for kids; Caves and natural land formations for exploring; Amerindian petroglyphs; Miles of wide beaches; Water sports; Superb restaurants; Flashy nightclub revues; Best casinos in the Caribbean; Shopper's paradise.

January, February and March are the most popular times to visit. If you prefer smaller crowds and a more relaxed atmosphere, plan your trip for mid-April through September. Or, if you can't stand another morning of scraping ice from your windshield, hop the next plane and come in the middle of December. In other words, choose your own time. Come just because you feel like it. Whenever you feel like it.

Aruba’s heavenly sunsets, endless beaches and crystal, blue waters beckon with the promise of memorable romantic getaways. The island, long a favorite destination among honeymooners, has also found its appeal among couples looking to affirm their vows. Every year, Aruba receives hundreds of questions on how to get married on the island. To those couples, Aruba offers the following possibilities:

Civil marriage on Aruba is only possible if one of the partners is a Dutch citizen as well as an Aruban resident. Visitors, however, can arrange religious wedding ceremonies here on the island, provided that they are first legally married in their country of origin and have contacted the proper officials in Aruba prior to their arrival. In Aruba, a civil marriage at sea is not possible. A boat captain using Aruba as his port is not authorized to officiate at a wedding, even in international waters, according to Dutch laws. All couples coming to the island to get married in a religious ceremony must bring along their marriage certificate, or a similar official paper, to prove that they were married according to the law of their country.
