Bartlesville is situated in Northeast Oklahoma

Rich in history and tradition, Bartlesville is known for its heritage of Indian and Western cultures, and as the site of the first commercial oil well in Oklahoma, or west of the Mississippi. Today, Bartlesville combines big-city resources and arts with small town convenience and friendliness. The high quality of life, central geographic location, and business-friendly atmosphere form the basis for a progressive future.

Bartlesville is a cosmopolitan southwestern city of almost 35,000 people with a sizable international community. The city is characterized by strong links to American Indian heritage and the early beginnings of the oil industry. The architecture is a fascinating blend of historic, contemporary and international styles and in the downtown skyline mixes graceful turn of the century buildings with modern skyscrapers. Bartlesville is also a cultural hub for Oklahoma. The Woolaroc Museum houses some of the southwest's greatest collections of western and worldwide art, relics and exhibits. And, the Bartlesville Community Center whose distinctive shape features a magnificent concert hall and theater complex, is one of the region's premier venues for the performing arts.

Other places to visit include Woolaroc's open air Wildlife Preserve where wildlife can roam in natural enclosures and an authentically recreated prairie town of the 1800's, Prairie Song, I.T. Also recommended are guided tours of historical homes and buildings which help the visitor appreciate the history of this unique town. Other points of interest are excellent seasonal selections of festivals and special events that take place in Bartlesville during the year.

If your company needs room to grow, Bartlesville may have just what you're looking for. We can offer a skilled and motivated work force, ready access to markets on all points of the compass, three business/industrial parks, and great business infrastructure. All this AND Bartlesville is a great place to live!

In the early 1980's the City of Bartlesville initiated a program to create jobs and diversify its economy. This objective has strong support throughout the community.

Since 1985, Bartlesville's citizens have voted "yes" on three separate occasions to continue a special quarter-cent sales tax that is used to support business relocation incentives and to build infrastructure such as the Bartlesville Industrial Park.

Bartlesville wants to attract new businesses in virtually all businesses and industry segments. But we are "targeting" the plastics, aerospace, business services, technology-intensive, machine tool and metal fabrication, and food processing industry segments where Bartlesville offers special advantages in terms of work force, location, infrastructure, or synergism with existing businesses.

We're proud of what the City of Legends has to offer as a place to live, a place to visit, and a place to do business. At a glance was created to give you an overview of our community and to provide information that will be useful in planning your visit.

Combining big-city resources with small town convenience, Bartlesville provides a low cost of living, a wide variety of activities, and a high quality of life. Its recreational and cultural opportunities, fine schools, and exceptional medical facilities, provides Bartlesville residents of all ages with a lifestyle that's truly legendary.
