A village encompassing six of the Florida Keys

Islamorada is the "Sport Fishing Capital of the World", with every variety of exciting game fish and delicious table fare available in the Atlantic or Florida Bay. Charterboats are conveniently nearby, or chart your own course. The Famous Alligator Reef is just four miles offshore, an ideal area for scuba diving, snorkeling and underwater photography. Onshore, our beautifully landscaped grounds offer volleyball and shuffleboard. Nearby activities include tennis, golf and bowling.

Islamorada's Parks and Recreation Department has great plans for your kids this summer. A summer recreation camp is available at Islamorada Founders Park for eight weeks for children of ages 6 to 13. The camp is weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 3 through July 26 except for July Fourth. Activities include tennis, volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball, soccer, kayaking, sailing, Red Cross swim classes, water safety, fishing, skating at the skate park, arts and crafts and weekly field trips. Space is limited to 75 kids. Registration is at the Islamorada Aquatic Center with reasonable fees and discounts for siblings. A park member pays $75 per week, and $60 per week for a sibling. A non-member pays $90 per week and $75 per sibling per week. Children are asked to bring to the camp swimwear, towel, sunscreen, lunch and snack items.

The Islamorada Parks and Recreation Department is hosting professional baseball instruction for children from ages 5 to 16 through the Tee Hill Academy at Islamorada Founders Park. Instruction will include fundamentals, pitching, hitting, fielding and base running, and will be offered year-round with practices on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The instructor is Travis Hill, an ex semi-pro baseball player and his assistant, Raul Gomez, a semi-pro baseball minor player with the White Sox. Tournament travel teams offer different opportunities for different age groups. Kids of age 5-6 engage in T-ball, 7-8 year olds play in leagues where coaches pitch, and at the following two-year increments, the rest of the kids play baseball. The fee is $75 per child for Founders Park members, with siblings paying one-third of that. The fee for non-members is $90 per month with siblings paying one-third. The academy charges a one-time registration fee of $40 for the first child and $20 for each sibling. This helps purchase uniforms and equipment.

A new program at Islamorada Founders Park, as community members who are developmentally disabled enjoyed pool activities. The program aims to appeal to people of all ages who are developmentally disabled. The Islamorada Parks and Recreation Department invited MARC and other community members to participate in swim lessons and a water conditioning program especially designed for the developmentally disabled. In addition to steps into the pool, a special chair also gives access to the water. The program runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Registration is daily from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Founders Park Aquatic Center. The cost is $4 per lesson for park members and $5 per lesson for non-members. All Islamorada residents are park members.

Young and old and in between are invited to participate in tennis lessons at Islamorada Founders Park. U.S. Professional Tennis Association instructor Kirk Raper is offering classes for beginners and intermediates players. Adult classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays afternoons. Costs for Islamorada residents are $12 per class or $90 per month and fees are slightly higher for non-residents. Children’s classes are offered Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. Costs for Islamorada children are $8 per class or $90 per month and fees are slightly higher for non-residents. Interested participants may register at the Aquatic Center at MM 87 Bayside. Additional tennis programs include private lessons and a tennis league.

Yoga helps align the body with universal energy and relieve stress. It increases flexibility, strengthens muscles and releases toxins from the body. Classes are offered three times per week at Islamorada Founders Park. Payment for the classes can be done at the yellow Aquatic Center building.

Village of Islands

On a small island in the Florida Keys, the morning brings a glistening Atlantic Ocean sunrise. Across the backcountry islands, dusk provides a glorious Florida Bay sunset. The beautiful turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean and Florida Bay provide the gorgeous backdrop for any watersports activity you desire on your tropical vacation. And Holiday Isle provides the opportunity.

We have a white sand beach for swimming, kayaking, parasailing, waverunners, or just floating and sunning. In our full-service marina, an entire fleet of boats waits for you. You can hire a captain for deep-sea or backcountry fishing or rent a boat and take off on your own. We also have our own dive shop for SCUBA and snorkel trips.

Back on shore, dine at water’s edge at one of the restaurants that are right on the water. Enjoy sixth-floor views from the Horizon Restaurant or visit our newest restaurant, Ollie's Backyard BBQ. Holiday Isle is also home of the World-Famous, original Tiki Bar.

Enjoy free live entertainment on the beach and in the bars. Dance in the sand or simply lay back and dangle your toes in the water. A small island a world away, Holiday Isle is only 75 miles south of the Miami International Airport and 30 miles north of the Marathon airport.

There are a number of wonderful shops located around Holiday Isle. Most are located along Bimini row stretched along the Atlantic's edge. There are also shops in the main hotel lobby and next to the Welcome Center.
