Beautiful quasi-Mediterranean Scenery

The Lake Lugano region is a bi-national melting pot of contrasting European cultures enjoying a unique social and financial climate. It’s lakeside cafes and Grottos host Swiss bankers and International travelers dining on pasta and red wine. It’s Swiss medical system is the finest in the world. It boasts a relaxed and sophisticated environment where no crime exists.

Water-ski on Lake Lugano in the morning, lunch at a lakeside café and snow-ski in St. Moritz in the afternoon. Porlezza is an important tourist center situated at the head of Lake Lugano, surrounded by the valleys of Menaggio, Carvagna, Intelvi and Valsolda. Porlezza is just 15 - 20 minutes’ drive from Lugano to the east, whose airport offers connecting flights to Zurich, Frankfurt, Paris and Rome. Milan, with its International Airport, is 75 km to the south. Menaggio, on Lake Como, is 6 km to the east. Across the lake, just 15 minutes by boat from Lugano is the Municipality of Campione d’Italia, a well-known tax haven called ‘the Swiss-Backdoor’.



Switzerland’s most famous ski resort, is 1˝ hours drive to the north. Other ski resorts are a short 20-minute drive from Lugano. Tourists from all over the world enjoy Porlezza’s Mediterranean-type climate with seven months of summer. It offers a variety of water sports, five famous golf courses, tennis, soccer, horseback riding, etc. There are well-appointed shopping villages, prestige hotels and fine restaurants. Visit its famous ‘Grottos’, family-owned restaurants serving home-style local cuisine, many of which are over 200 years old. Shop in the Historic Center and at the local Artisan’s Market.
