Luxury and Elegance in the Caribbean

The Coralstone Club is on Grand Cayman's spectacular Seven Mile Beach, just fifteen minutes drive from the airport. It has thirty six deluxe oceanfront apartments including a penthouse. Nearby is an excellent range of shops and world class restaurants. Entertainment, watersport and golf courses are all nearby. From diving and snorkeling to sailing and windsurfing, Grand Cayman offers a vacation full of adventure.

Each superb apartment affords generous living space with fully equipped kitchen, central air conditioning as well as cool tiled floors and screened patio. There is also a master suite with own private balcony enjoying a panoramic view of the Caribbean. Additionally, you'll find two comfortable guest bedrooms. In our landscaped grounds, you'll find BBQ grills, two swimming pools, two whirlpool spas, two lighted tennis courts, and a fitness center. Other amenities include elevators, laundry facilities, cable TV and a house-keeping service. Babysitting is also available.

The Coral Stone Club on Grand Cayman Island is a Brian Butler Development completed in 1994. It consists of 33 custom-designed vacation rental units with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths; and a double unit of 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms with enhanced living and dining areas. There are currently 15 original owners and 15 families that have owned over 6 years.

In January, Coral Stone Club initiated a major renovation to the complex. This was partially due to Hurricane Ivan, but, the main thrust came from the commitment of the owners to make Coral Stone Club a first class property that would withstand a Category 5 hurricane with minimal damage. Engineers were brought in to design and develop all structures to the specifications necessary to meet these criteria. Lighting designers, structural designers and landscape architects were hired to redesign the look and feel of the property. Today, the newly renovated Coral Stone Club stands as one of the premium vacation rental properties on Seven Mile Beach.

Exterior renovations: All windows and doors were replaced to meet and exceed Dade County’s highest hurricane standards. A new standing seam roof was installed which meets all modern hurricane codes. New air compressor stands were erected on the roof and the compressors were secured to meet the new hurricane codes. A complete new lighting system was installed around the property. All exterior deck tiles were removed and custom-design tiles were installed on the ground floors and Italian tiles were laid on the upper decks. All buildings had their original surfaces removed. Architectural accents were added and new Acrocrete surface was applied. New landscaping, throughout the property, included the addition of palm trees framing the pool and beach areas. The components of the new exterior now give Coral Stone Club a modern Caribbean look.

Interior renovations: While all this was happening to the exterior, each unit owner undertook complete renovations to their own vacation rental units. Interiors were stripped down to the concrete walls. These units now have new floors, custom-designed bathrooms, kitchens and many unique features that make each unit different.

Completion of our new pool: A new 90-foot, 50,000 gallon, pool was completed. It is framed by a proper sea wall that adds extra protection to both the property and the pool. The pool has the following features: Infinity edge, Zero entry in the shallow end, Water bubbling features in the shallow end, 2 spas, one on each side of the pool’s 50-foot decks, Fiber optic lighting system and Custom-designed deck tiles.

The true capital appreciation of any building on Seven Mile Beach is directly correlated to the amount of beach frontage owned by the strata. The Coral Stone Club is in the unique position of owning 420 feet of beach. This is shared between 36 owners. With current valuations running in excess of $160,000.00 per linear foot, the value of beach front belonging to the Coral Stone Owners far exceeds that of many other properties. This is an important feature to keep in mind when comparing the Coral Stone Club to other Seven Mile Beach properties.

Teams and individuals compete to decide on the best Chili and Caymanian dishes. Past Cayman Cook-Offs have featured the best of Caymanian dishes using either turtle, conch or beef as the main ingredient with prizes for both Traditional and Contemporary dishes, Best Turtle Dish, Best Conch Fritters, Best Heavy Cake, Best Presentation and Best Overall Caymanian dish!

An exciting Cayman Island tradition, Pirates Week offers eleven fun-filled days of music, street dances, costumes, games, food and drink, “pirate invasion”, Kids Day, glittering parade, sports events, Heritage Days, and fireworks. For more information and day by day schedule.

A fantastic street carnival ushers in spring with a colorful parade of costumes, music, dancing and culture. Past festivities have included flying eagles and dancing stingrays; local bands play an array of island music that fills the street with steel bands; dance groups and school children all moving to the groove!

Cayman Activities

Rum Point Club - On the western tip of Northside (7 miles from main North/South road), this beach resort is awesome. The beach is sugar white sand with casuarina (pine) trees overhanging the water to keep the sun from scorching your family. The "Rum Point Club" offers lounge chaises, hammocks, beach service bar, grill, gift shop, bathroom facilities/showers as well as Red Sail Sports concession (jet skis, scuba, stingray city tours, snorkeling, sailing, kayaks, etc.). Advice is to avoid Sunday afternoons (many locals visit on Sundays on their boats, so it gets very crowded). Rum Point is actually leased/operated by the Hyatt hotel, so it is very professionally operated and kept very clean. You will want to visit Rum Point at least 2-3 times while you are on the island, so I recommend your first visit to be Monday morning about 10:00AM. (the bar opens at 11AM and you will have your pick of lounge chaises/hammocks at 10:30 or earlier).

Stingray City Sandbar - One of the biggest attractions on the island, stingray city is a wonderful experience for all ages. My recommendation is to call Red Sail Sports and book onto their 65' catamaran on Tuesday or Thursday (3 hour trip) that picks your family up at the Kaibo Yacht Club (near Rum Point) around 9:30AM and then drops you off in time for lunch at the Kaibo grill. If you are looking for a private stingray city/snorkel trip, I would suggest contacting before you arrive to set that up. Shawn (who also cares for/captains our boat) can pick you up at the Kaibo as well (in a great boat), but I would suggest making it an afternoon trip about 2PM - 5PM, as the cruise ship passengers have to return to their ships by 4PM sharp and will be leaving stingray city just as you arrive (much less crowded). Bring a cooler with plenty of water & beverages.

Snorkeling - Whether you snorkel at "Coral Gardens" after your stingray city visit or just wade into the water in front of your villa or at the public beach on Northside, you will see plenty of fish. The snorkeling/fish-watching at Rum Point is pretty modest you really need to go out with Red Sail Sports to see fish. If you would like a private charter in the east end for snorkeling, you should contact Ocean Frontiers and book their "Top Cat" Snorkle Boatpontoon boat for just your family. The experienced dive masters will take you straight out to the reef to 2-3 great snorkeling spots where you will see plenty of marine life. Top Cat carries VHF radio, safety gear, lemonade, water and plenty of dry towels so please leave the villa towels back home. The cost of the standard stingray city/snorkeling trip is about $35-40/person, so if you have 10 people, Top Cat private charter at $300 plus tip for half-day is actually not only a great (private) charter, you actually save money too!
