2 days in Düsseldorf

Discover Düsseldorf with the Düsseldorf à la Card offer. Stay at an attractive hotel and plan your individual city trip from more than 30 offers contained in the Düsseldorf WelcomeCard.

This is what your trip to the metropolis of shopping and culture on the Rhine might look like:

1st day

Start from one of our Tourist Information offices at central station or at the Kö-Galerie (see map), where you will receive your Düsseldorf WelcomeCard and a comprehensive information package. This is also where you buy your tickets for concerts, the theatre, cabaret or a variety show (note the price reductions with the DWC!).

Begin your stroll on the world-famous shopping boulevard, the Königsallee (‘Kö’). The pavement cafés, shaded by magnificent chestnut trees, are an invitation to experience ‘live’ the motto of this stylish avenue, which is ‘to see and be seen’. Or meet friends at one of the numerous cosy pubs and restaurants of the Altstadt, Düsseldorf’s old town, just a stone’s throw away from Königsallee. The Düsseldorf WelcomeCard provides an opportunity for testing the famous Altbier free of charge!

In the mood for some culture? 18 museums are waiting to be visited free of charge or at a reduced price with the DWC. (A tip: the old castle tower, the Schloßturm, directly adjacent to the Rhine on Burgplatz, houses the shipping museum. From the so-called ‘Laterne’ on top of the tower, there is a splendid view of the river and the beautiful art-nouveau facades on the left bank of the Rhine).

The Rhine embankment promenade with its numerous restaurants, cafés and pubs is the meeting point for evening outings. But careful: don’t let it make you forget the evening programme you have already booked.

2nd day

We recommend that after a substantial breakfast at your hotel you take part in a guided city tour (price reduction with the DWC). Final point and highlight of this 2-hours tour of discovery is the ascent of the Rhine Tower, 234 m high.
