History Hallett Peak is a mountain peak located in Rocky Mountain National Park in the northern part of the U.S. state of Colorado. The peak is named after William Harrison Hallett, who was an early explorer and mountaineer in the region. Hallett Peak is part of the Continental Divide, which is a long and high mountain range that divides North America's rivers into two major systems. The peak is located on the eastern side of the divide, and it stands at an elevation of 12,713 feet (3,875 meters) above sea level. Hallett Peak is a popular destination for hikers and climbers, and there are several routes to the summit. The most popular route is the Flattop Mountain Trail, which starts at the Bear Lake Trailhead and follows a steep but well-maintained path to the summit. The trail is approximately 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) round trip, and it offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
