With it’s privileged location opposite the Cascais Bay and benefiting from a fantastic view over the ocean, the Hotel Baia is in the heart of this quaint old fishing village, and is a must for a visit or as a meeting point. After continuous remodelling and redecorating, Hotel Baia now has 113 rooms and suites all equipped with bathroom and shower, central heating, air conditioning, telephone and music. 66 of the bedrooms have a private balcony overlooking the sea and the 47 new rooms are equipped with double glazed windows, which overlook the town of Cascais and the mountains of Sintra.

After continuous renovations it is today a modern and welcoming hotel. Fisherman's Beach - Situated opposite the hotel, it is a place where tradition is repeated daily with the unloading of the day’s catch and its transport to the fish market – the Lota. Town Hall - Situated to the right of the Hotel it is well known for its hand-painted tiles. The Church of the Ascension of our Lady - Famous for it’s paintings of Josefa d’Óbidos (1634 – 1684).

It can harbour vessels with up to 35 meters in length and 6 meters depth below the waterline. The Sea Museum - A cultural institution working for the preservation and study of a vast heritage from Natural History to Ethnology and Archaeology. Condes Castro Guimarães Museum - This palace was built in the early 20th Century and deserves a visit not just for its architectural value but also artistic and archaeological.

Rua Direita - On this road, which is closed to traffic, you will find much of Cascais’ commerce. 15-Road to Guincho, Cabo da Roca and Sintra (World Heritage) - Guincho beach, lying at the foot of the Sintra hills and facing the Atlantic, should not be missed. The Estoril Coast is a real gift of nature. Limited to the North by the Sintra Mountains, to the South and West by the Atlantic Ocean and to the East by the river Tagus estuary, it is in its whole one of the most beautiful regions of Portugal. With its Mediterranean type of microclimate the Estoril Coast has mild winters and the summer is never too hot.

Because of its location next to the sea and the mild climate, one can practice many outdoor sports almost all year round. Golf, Tennis, horse riding, watersports, para-gliding, hang-gliding, mountaineering, cycling, rock climbing (escalada), are just a few of the sport one can practice in the area. The Estoril Club has eighteen courts with all facilities. Play is also possible at night. You can also play tennis at the Quinta da Marinha, the Cascais Country Club (Quinta da Bicuda) and Quinta do Junqueiro in Carcavelos. The Estoril Coast has nine golf courses, all very different and challenging:

Estoril-Sol Golf Club - This course lies some 8kms north of Estoril on the Sintra road, near the village of Linhó. Fantastic views are available all round, in a setting of pine trees, acacias and eucalyptus. The course is a 9 hole par 31 – 1.749 metres long - designed by John Harris and Ron Fream and is a great test for the player's skill. The area has been designed to offer the majority of shots which might be encountered by a golfer playing a normal round. The putting green has been built on two levels - the upper level has subtle slopes often found on a golf course while the lower one is much flatter, allowing the golfer to concentrate on stroke and distance.
