In 1949 Jenkinson installed the beach train and tracks along the east side of the boardwalk. This attraction afforded visitors a scenic ride along the sand and also created a congruity to Jenkinson's large facility. All the buildings located on the inlet property were eventually renovated and a small pavilion and utility building were constructed. In 1951, a kiddie park was developed at the south end and comprised nine rides. In September 1976 the fifty-year-old facility, in need of upgrading and modernization, was purchased by the present owners of Jenkinson's. In January, 1977, Jenkinson's Pavilion, a New Jersey corporation was formed. Immediately following the purchase, the new owners completely renovated and upgraded the pavilion, creating an arcade, stands, games, and a restaurant with an enclosed porch. At the inlet the meeting hall and bath houses were completely renovated. They were converted into apartments and the remaining buildings were upgraded.

At this time Jenkinson's became increasingly well-known for its' safe, clean, and reasonably priced facility and for its' family-oriented atmosphere. In 1978 the dinner theater in the main pavilion was built. In 1979, the salt water pool was removed. The area was converted to a much needed parking area to accommodate the increasing number of visitors. This same year it was decided that the Pavilion restaurant, games, and the arcade would be leased out. In 1984, a building was added at the foot of Parkway and another building on the north side, opposite the train station.

On November 22, 1989, fire destroyed Jenkinson's Pavilion. Construction plans were begun immediately for a new pavilion. The owners decided not to lease out the building but to return management back to Jenkinson's. The new pavilion was finished by May 1990. The pavilion was designed by well-known designer Peter Catelli to create a modern interpretation of the boardwalk while capturing the atmosphere of a resort. The new pavilion includes a large self service area, a bar, a restaurant with decks overlooking the ocean, a night club, a sound booth, a stage, and tropical deck bars. The south end of the building is a state-of -the-art arcade, with stands.

In early 1990, plans were approved for Jenkinson's Aquarium. Again designed by Peter Catelli as both an entertainment and educational facility. Open all year, Jenkinson's Aquarium offers schools and organizations a high-quality experience. Jenkinson's Aquarium has a full time marine biologist and a full time veterinarian on staff. Exhibits include: penguins, seals, alligators, sharks, rays, macaws, a coral reef, touch tanks, freshwater tropical fish, and indigenous fish. Another wonderful exhibit exclusive to Jenkinson's Aquarium is the original, completely restored Bounty prop, which was used in both movie versions of "Mutiny on the Bounty". There is a full classroom and video viewing room available to visitors.
