Report a Stranded Marine Mammal in Orange County The Pacific Marine Mammal Center was founded in 1971 by a group of dedicated volunteers who were concerned about the increasing number of marine mammals and sea turtles that were becoming sick, injured, or stranded along the Orange County coastline. Initially operating out of a small garage, the center has since grown into a leading non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of marine mammals and sea turtles. Throughout the years, the center has continued to expand its rescue and rehabilitation efforts, and has also expanded its educational programs and advocacy efforts aimed at promoting ocean conservation and reducing threats to marine life. Over the years, the Pacific Marine Mammal Center has treated and released thousands of animals, and has played a critical role in the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured marine mammals and sea turtles along the Orange County coastline. Today, the center continues to provide vital care to marine animals in need, and remains dedicated to its mission of promoting ocean conservation and protecting marine wildlife.
