Living the Florida Dream

The City of Palm Coast's newest recreation facility is the Indian Trails Sports Complex. Approximately 40 acres of the 164-acre site have been developed. This facility boasts four lighted baseball/softball fields with a central concession stand with restrooms, four lighted soccer fields, two covered pavilions with picnic tables and a playground. Our other parks include more ball fields, playground areas and covered pavilions. It is our Mayor and City Council's vision to make Palm Coast a leadership city with a quality of life, access to nature, and professional services unsurpassed in Northeast Florida and ensure our mission to protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Palm Coast through a full range of efficient and effective municipal services.

We are dedicated to the environment and preserving the natural beauty of Palm Coast while accommodating the rapid influx of residents and businesses. This is why we have identified and purchased land in priority target areas. We established the Palm Coast Parkway Greenway Project and retained the Trust for Public Lands as a partner in the acquisition process. This land, located within the Palm Coast Parkway Corridor, has been converted into a "linear park" along with an existing canal and walking trail. It will be preserved for passive recreational use and will maintain its natural environment. This park will serve as a legacy for future generations of city residents.

Strategically located just minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, Palm Coast is situated half way between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach. As a relatively new city that was incorporated in 1999, our opportunities to attract new business seem endless. Our business climate is positive. We are close to excellent vocational training facilities and plentiful resources, including land, timber, lakes, railway, air and sea ports. The City of Palm Coast is committed to providing the highest quality of life through sustaining a safe community with a hometown feeling that respects and protects the natural environment.

Residents live the Florida dream in Palm Coast. Our lifestyles are diverse – from small community neighborhoods with small town charm to large, luxurious resort communities with high-end amenities and private club memberships. Many Palm Coast homes rest along salt or fresh water canals, lakefront, ocean or the Intracoastal Waterway. The average home price tends to be lower than in the west or northeast and the cost of living index is considered to be average within the state. Florida has no personal income tax and property taxes are low, making the per capita taxes among the lowest in the Country.

Quality education is a top priority in Palm Coast! We have "A" rated schools with over 20,000 enrolled students and eight nearby colleges and universities. Daytona State College's beautiful satellite campus is located in Palm Coast. Recreation resources abound, both natural and man-made. Water sports, golf, tennis, bike trails and community events are enjoyed in our three season climate. Recently, Fortune Magazine rated Palm Coast as one of the top 5 places to retire!
