There is a lot of Wildlife Club excitement at Riverside Caravan Park with copious events planned for the coming months to suit the whole family. The recent moth and bat walk was a great success and carried on late into the night! Spotters were lucky to catch sight of Pipistrelle Bats and many beasties after enjoying the barbecue and pre-walk refreshments. Catch a glimpse from the photos displayed on the Wildlife Club Notice Board! Also keep a look out on the notice board for additional information and further plans. If you have access to the Internet, you will find lots of useful dates for your diary relating to the Wildlife Club and other events in the area.

An illustrated presentation discovering the rare Pine Marten - Saturday July 29th 2000hrs. Members free, non members £3.00. Johnny Birks of the Vincent Wildlife Trust will deliver a visual presentation on the very rare native British Pine Marten. Once presumed extinct, it is now thought that Pine Martens can still be found throughout Cumbria and perhaps, even at Skelwith. The presentation includes a description of this enigmatic and beautiful mammal, its behaviour, ecology and suggestions on how we can help to research, study and protect the endangered species. The presentation includes slide show and refreshments.



Visit to Internationally renowned Lowther Horse Driving Trials - Friday 4th August from 1330. Cost is £19.00 and is subject to full bus. A limited tour with only 11 places. Spend an afternoon in majestic surroundings at The Lowther Horse Driving Trials and Country Fair. Watch the most refined Dressage competition where carriages are polished to perfection and competitors are presented in immaculate uniform displaying precision and elegance to gain vital points. Stroll the tempting Fine Food Tent and Shopping Village with many bargains to entice you! A spectacular country event set in the grounds of Lowther and in the shadow of the prestigious castle - one not to be missed.

Day excursion concluding with afternoon tea at Keswick - Saturday 19th August from 0900 members £20.00, non £23.00. Limited to 16 places. Begin with a scenic journey through Grasmere and on to Buttermere, stopping off for lunch in Cockermouth. Afternoon will lead us to Keswick where there will be time to wander the buzzing streets before visiting George Fisher for a special preview and afternoon tea. To conclude, we will stop off at historical Castlerigg Stone Circle.

Keep a look out for a day excursion to the Aquarium of the Lakes. Special membership discount package including VIP tour and refreshments.

Motor vehicles are permitted on the Park at the rate of one per caravan. Other motor vehicles are allowed to park at the discretion of the Park Owners and shall be parked as and where directed. Commercial vehicles are allowed on the park only with prior consent of the Park Owners and must parked as directed.

Upon relinquishing the occupancy of a pitch, the pitch must be left in a clean and tidy condition, the caravan owner will become liable for the costs of disconnecting the services, removal of the caravan from the pitch, making the caravan ready for transport, and any clean up or reinstatement of the pitch. Charges will be based on time and costs incurred by us in the process.
