Bournemouth Pier History
Bournemouth Pier is a historical landmark located in Bournemouth, a seaside town in the south coast of England. The pier has a rich history dating back to the Victorian era.
The original Bournemouth Pier was built in 1856 and was only 100 feet long. However, it was soon extended to 838 feet in length in 1861 to accommodate the growing number of tourists visiting the town. The pier was designed by Eugenius Birch, a renowned pier designer who also designed piers in Brighton, Blackpool, and Southend-on-Sea.
