South Carolina Aquarium Launches Educational Campaign Entitled Gardens of the Ocean - Most people think they must travel to exotic faraway places to explore an underwater haven filled with an array of spectacular reefs and bright, beautiful fish. That misconception will soon change as guests to the South Carolina Aquarium get a new underwater perspective during a five month educational campaign entitled Gardens of the Ocean. Dedicated to showcasing, interpreting and educating others about the ocean’s natural underwater landscape, the South Carolina Aquarium is designing a special educational campaign entitled “Gardens of the Ocean: A Special Focus on Reefs” from April 15 to August 14, to showcase and highlight the importance of reefs and provide ways for guests to get involved in various conservation related activities.

During this campaign, the Aquarium will highlight and promote the various reefs found right off the Carolina coast including “Paradise Reef,” “Ten Mile Reef,” and “Y-73 Reef” just to name a few. Special exhibit panels, daily programs, and an evening lecture series will highlight reef activities and better educate guests on the variety of reef fauna found right off the coast.
