The Port has developed the facilities and demonstrated the expertise to move diverse cargoes, including a wide range of bulk, breakbulk, neo-bulk and general cargoes. The terminals are supported by large, paved, secured cargo yards, the port's own on-dock rail system, and more than 104,000 square feet (9,661 square meters) of on-dock covered storage.

Equipped with two 50 ton Whirley cranes and on-dock rail spurs, Terminal 4 accommodates direct loading and unloading of cargoes from ship to rail. Project cargoes, including heavy machinery and equipment are expertly handled at this Port, located only two hours from open sea.

Grays Harbor has the equipment to service container vessels, including a Taylor Top Pick. With more than 75 acres of paved, secured, storage area Grays Harbor can accommodate large volumes of containerized and breakbulk cargo.

Storage facilities on-dock include more than 104,000 sq. ft. (9,661 sq. mt.) of rail, truck and lift accessible warehousing. Weather sensitive cargo including pulp, paper, kiln dry lumber, steel coils and copper are received, staged and reloaded for transport to its final destination.

The Port of Grays Harbor, the largest deepwater port on the coast of Washington State, offers its customers benefits of a general purpose US Foreign Trade Zone -- FTZ #173. A total of 587 acres (238 hectares) of land, buildings, located throughout Grays Harbor County, are available for use by companies engaged in international trade.

A Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) is a designation granted to property which, when activated, allows business to be conducted on that property as if it were located outside of US Customs Territory. It allows businesses to store, process and manipulate foreign goods within the Zone, while duty paid on the goods is deferred until they leave the Zone. If goods are brought into a Zone and exported to another country, duty is avoided, because the goods never formally entered US Customs jurisdiction.

There are many special ways an FTZ can benefit your company. We welcome the chance to answer your questions and work with you to set up FTZ procedures tailored to meet your needs. Four separate land areas are included in the Port of Grays Harbor's official Foreign Trade Zone designation.
