Without a doubt, the area offers the tourist endless possibilities. May we remind you that should you require any further information, we are at entirely at your disposal.

Work commenced on the Marina on the 12th of November 1972, being organised in different phases. The Pueblo Marinero was the first area to be built, followed by the Levante Quay and later the rest of the buildings.

It was inaugurated on the 9th of October 1982

The Benalmádena Marina constitutes the most amazing Port and Residential Complex in Europe, with its artificial islands give a special attractiveness.

This impressive Marina has on two occasions been awarded the Prize for The Best Marina in the World.

It has available 1014 moorings for boats ranging in length from 6 to 40 metres.

With 320 days of sun per year, and average annual temperature of 22ºC.

The European Union, through the A.D.E.A.C. has awarded the Benalmádena Marina the Blue Flag for Clean European Waters, for the quality of its services and of its waters. This has been awarded uninterruptedly since 1987 until today.

There's nothing new about the "green revolution" on the Costa del Sol. We're talking about golf, of course. For many year the coast has been a golfer's paradise - indeed, the golfing centre of Europe - and with good reason.

There are close to 30 championship golf courses on the Costa del Sol, and many more in construction. Several dozen courses will be functioning by 1992, the year of the Expo in nearby Seville and the Olympics in Barcelona. And what magnificent courses they are! The semitropical climate is ideal for the fastidious landscaping a great golf course require, and it allows for play 12 months a year.

The variety of the countryside, from beaches to mountains, has challenged the world's finest golf course designers, including Robert Trent Jones and Severiano Ballesteros.

Twenty-four years ago, when Winbledom ex-champion Lew Hoad established his famous "Campo de Tenis" in Mijas, it was the only tennis club on the Costa del Sol. Now, there are superb facilities wherever you look.

The most perfect climate in Europe, allowing for play 12 months a year, makes it all possible. In addition to the proliferation of first-class clubs, there are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of courts in hotels and apartment complexes. Tennis professionals from many countries come here to sample the coast's other delights while they train or play tournaments.

Today, the Costa del Sol, 140 km. of Mediterranean beaches and coves, is the most sophisticated coastline in Europe.

Its ideal position, close to Africa, means an almost perfect climate, even in winter. In fact, there are very few days in the year when the beach cannot be enjoyed.

The coast is dotted with excellent yacht harbours, catering for every sort of boat. The largest is the world-famous Puerto José Banús outside of Marbella, where there are always some spectacular yachts to be seen.

It would be hard to think of a water sport that isn't available on the Costa del Sol. Sailing, snorkelling, windsurfing, paragliding and every kind of fishing -first class facilities exist for all of them. There are many sailing clubs as well, offering instruction and boat rental.
