We think it's important to begin on the right foot and continue learning for a lifetime. That's why the Big Boulder and Jack Frost Mountain ski schools have adapted the learning process to fit all abilities and interests. From traditional ideas like group lessons to new approaches like our Discovery Program, we've worked to create a learning environment that everyone will find fun, rewarding, and a great way to meet any challenge. In fact, we guarantee you'll learn to ski, or your next lesson is on us.

Explore the excitement of skiing with our Discovery Program. Designed for people with no prior experience, this unique program utilizes its own beginner learning terrain, lifts, and a series of teaching stations that operate throughout the day. Just start at the first station whenever you arrive, take as much time as you need to master those skills, then move on to the next station at your own pace. You can even go back to an earlier station at any time during the day to review and brush up on what you've learned.

Our Discovery Program is available as a lesson only or as a package which includes; lesson, equipment rental, and a day or twilight limited terrain lift ticket. This program gives you the freedom to come and go, and start and stop as you see fit.

Group lessons are an excellent way for skiers of intermediate level or above to learn new skills and refine old ones alongside students of similar ability. Lessons last an hour and a half and begin at 10:00 am, 2:00 pm, and 6:00 pm (6:00 p.m. lessons at Big Boulder only). Group lessons are also available as packages, including; a day or twilight lift ticket and equipment rental.

For skiers and snowboarders looking for instruction that will focus specifically on their individual needs, private lessons provide the perfect learning environment. For a small additional fee, you can bring a friend along and make it a semi-private lesson. This program for the physically and mentally challenged is nationally recognized as one of the best of its kind. Staffed by specially skilled instructors, the Adaptive Ski Program is another way we try to make the thrill of skiing available to everyone. We have been leaders in Junior Racing in the State of PA for the past 18 years. For children ages 5-18, we offer both competitive and non-competitive tracks.
